Shot Bro - Confessions of a Depressed Bullet is "serious black comedy about a real fight with depression" written and performed by award winning actor and writer, Rob Mokaraka, a 2015 New Zealand Mental Health Media Grant winner. The show's four-day development season launches in Whangarei, Wednesday 11 May.
Using his utility belt of tools like stand-up comedy, expert dance moves, mime and puppetry, Rob unfolds his depression in an entertaining yet insightful way, shining light on a traumatic event – you will hear why he ended up being Shot Bro. The show will entertain and empower people, provoke thought and discussion, and bring our communities closer together. It uses humour to dig into the darkness and bring depression into the light,Shot Bro is a platform to exchange thoughts and knowledge on a kaupapa that quietly affects the lives of many people.So, after the show a forum will be facilitated by a qualified health professional, followed by kōrero and kai. Your involvement will further the show’s development into a New Zealand and international tour.
