Be part of creating workplace change!

19 Sep, 2016

We’re producing a series of videos and electronic resources for our Open Minds project, which will give managers the skills to talk about mental health and wellbeing with their employees.

We’re looking for ten managers and employees to speak on camera about their experience of having conversations about mental health in the workplace.Open Minds is a Mental Health Foundation (MHF) project, funded by the Like Minds Like Mine Community Partnership fund. The long-term outcome of the project is to enable employers to develop workplace policies, structures and cultures that are more inclusive and supportive of people with experience of mental illness. The MHF have partnered with AttitudeLive to produce the resources. AttitudeLive are a production company who specialise in disability issues and have a passion for increasing inclusion in workplaces.

We’d like to invite you and your workplace to be involved in this important production. We're looking for line managers and workers (Auckland-based) across a range of different industries who are willing to speak on camera about their experience of having conversations about mental health in the workplace. The focus of the interviews will be looking at what has, and hasn’t, worked when it comes to holding successful conversations. We’re particularly interested in speaking to you about:

Why it’s important to talk about mental health in the workplace and what the benefits are

The impact of not talking about it

What barriers can be in place for both the line manager and the worker

What skills you need to have a successful conversation

What actions line mangers can take to talk about mental health

We would like to film at your workplace, but if this is not possible, please still get in touch. Filming will take place in mid-October.You will be supported through the process by MHF and AttitudeLive. Both organisations have experience in mental health and privacy issues.

We will be offering those who volunteer their time a koha as a thank you.For more information please contact:
