Our Media Grants or Pūtea Pāpāho are awarded to people passionate about ending prejudice and discrimination against New Zealanders with mental distress or illness. They were first established in 2007 as a partnership between the Mental Health Foundation and the Nōku te Ao: Like Minds programme.
Previous winning projects have been successful in challenging people’s perceptions of the experience of mental distress and the journey to recovery by producing emotive and thought-provoking current affairs packages, podcasts, articles, documentaries and more.
Each Pūtea Pāpāho or Media Grant offers up to $10,000 NZD, as well as a fellowship and project guidance from the Mental Health Foundation on behalf of Nōku te Ao: Like Minds.
