Our Pūtea Hapori or Community Grants supported a social movement of Kiwis who actively challenged mental distress discrimination.
The Community Grants enabled this by funding both creative and community projects that built a movement to make Aotearoa a kinder, fairer and more inclusive place for people who live with mental distress or illness.
Our winning projects – which were each awarded up to $10,000 in funding – challenged negative stereotypes around mental distress and helped our communities, workplaces, whānau, iwi and hapū become more accepting and less judgmental. More than 42 individuals and community groups were funded.
The Pūtea Hapori or Community Grants were funded by the Nōku te Ao Like Minds programme.
